week 3

I will be doing a great deal of my research in the architecture buildings since my subculture has to do with landscape architecture. Most people on campus say just about the same thing when they here architecture student, crazy and sleep deprived. People on campus know of the architect majors as the people that are never sleep and never quit working, or the smart people on campus that never leave the class room. I am in the CAP program I have not declared which major in this field I want to pursue, however I can tell you that they are not that far off on a few of these things. I do not have much experience with "la's" as they are called, landscape architects, but I can assume that they are just like the rest of us, overworked. CAP students, college of architecture and planning, are almost always working on projects for studio on top of all other school work therefore it could be said that we never leave the class room because if you go to a studio at 2 in the morning on almost any given night there will probably be someone in there working on a project.

I would have to say after only being here for a semester that the idea of an architecture major being someone who never sleeps and works til all hours of the night has been pretty much cemented in my head. It's pretty pathetic how as only a second semester freshman that stereotype is already so strong for most people.

I would have to agree with Nate on this one. After being here for only a semester and just starting the second i have definetly heard that architecture students are overworked and sleep deprived. Thats kind of sad if you ask me. What good will come from being sleep deprived and overworked? Most students couldnt handle that, so I wish you the best of luck. :)
