Week 2

When I start to pick my subculture for this semester there are a few thing that I look for. One of the most important things that I look for is am I interested in it. If it is not something that I might find myself doing or joining one day, or something that just really fascinates me then I will not enjoy it and therefore will not want to work on it. I frankly do not care to learn anything about something that I do not like or find interesting, but if it is something that I like and will find I can eventually use then I am all for exploring and learning everything there is to know about it. The point of learning and doing this project is to learn about other people that are not like me, however that is the group I want to learn most about. I believe that in order to learn about others you must first learn about urself, therefore my goal in this to learn more about myself so I can learn about others.

I agree that you have to enjoy what you are researching. If you dont then you wont want to do it and then you'll dread coming to english class and all the assignments that go along with this project. I also agree with you that in order to learn about others you have to first learn about yourself. You have to know your interests and what makes you the person you are before you can analyze someone else or another culture. Good luck!
